G. Loomis IMX Steelhead Side-Drift Spinning Rods are lightweight, sensitive and powerful. These rods are soft enough to allow the fish to grab the bait without feeling the pull from the rod and sensitive enough to allow you to react before the fish drops the bait.

IMX Steelhead Side Drift Spinning Rods are designed for side drift boat fishing and are as much as 15 % lighter than the original IMX series and have an ergonomic handle that is designed for more comfort, better grip, and balance. These rods feature action specific tapers that give better balance and provide increased sensitivity as well as Fuji K-frame guides to help reduce tangles with braided line.

Specific Rod Details

IMX 1043-2S STSDR – A light-duty steelhead drift rod that has a powerful butt section for positive hooksets with a soft tip. It can handle line from 6 lb. test all the way up to 12 lb. for winter fishing when there is more water and better color. This rod is also extremely light and super sensitive.

IMX 1102-2S STSDR – One of the best all around side drift fishing rods in this series. It runs 6 lb. test for summer fishing all the way up to 10 lb. for bigger fish and better water conditions. It is lightweight and is balanced nicely even at 9′ 2″ long. The length improves the line and lure control plus allows for longer casts. This rod would be the best choice if you want to have just one rod to do it all.

IMX 1103-2S STSDR – A light weight, very responsive, sensitive and powerful rod that handles slightly heavier line for higher water conditions. It is designed for winter steelhead and big river summer fishing. This rod will also handle silvers, chums, and sockeyes.

IMX 1161-2S STSDR – A very responsive, sensitive and lightweight rod that is designed for summer fishing when the water is really low and clear. It has an ultra light tip to help you make longer casts and sufficient power to help you set the hook and bring in the fish.

IMX 1162-2S STSDR – A very long, sensitive and lightweight rod that is surprisingly powerful. The extra length improves line and lure control and extends your casting and fishing range, allowing to cover more water.

IMX 1163-2S STSDR – A very long rod that is designed specifically for side drift fishing. It is very responsive and can handle a slightly heavier line (up to 12 lb. test) for year round fishing.

IMX 1165-2S STSDR – The most powerful rod in this series, it can handle line up to 17 lb. but is still lightweight and responsive. This rod is made to fish for winter steelhead and salmon. It fishes very light for such a powerful rod and is a great option when fishing with big spinners or spoons from the shore.
